VANLIFT prestack
VANLIFT integrated into parcel logistics processes
– one example –
Location: Parcel depot Entrepreneurial line / Outgoing goods
Current Situation:
Early in the morning, when transshipment traffic arrives at the depot and is unloaded, all drivers for the local outbound tours must be on site to take shipments off the belt for sorting to the local tours, place them in their driver boxes, scan them, and then load them into their vehicles.
semi-automated prestack solution with conveyor modules from kfllabs and the VANLIFT:
Small automation solution with a great (cost) impact.
The most important components of this solution are the video and data technology, which support the mechanization and enable the automated work processes according to standards and operating manuals in the first place.
The advantages
- Productivity gain
- Better working conditions for drivers
- No problems with drivers exceeding their working hours,
- No heavy physical work
- Time savings
- Cost reduction
- Fewer personnel in the early morning hours for sorting of night handling / acceptance from the belt therefore also
- fewer vehicles on site
- data driven workflow
- seamless data collection on all available parameters
- No overloading of vehicles due to permanent weight measurement – on conveyor belt and with vanlift
The process
The semi-automatic pre-sorting system diverts the tour-optimized shipments into boxes, where the aisle sequence can be optimized manually and the packages can be arranged manually for better space utilization in the box. (Modules for aisle sequence optimization or NC rejection are also available).
One operator can handle multiple boxes. An optional light indicator shows the employee the locations with the most urgent need for action. For example, local delivery drivers do not have to arrive at the depot entrance until after unloading and can take over preloaded, tour-optimized boxes.
The boxes are a good 30 kg light, can be stacked, and folded after emptying to save space during transport.
Documentation of liability transitions take place in the form of video tracking and then by scanning the box QR code via the driver’s MDE.
VANLIFT is used for lining up the boxes to the plant, for sorting, for stacking – in the hall and also in the vehicle(!), for loading.
VANLIFT can be loaded into the vehicle to support unloading if necessary.
VANLIFT is data-technically connected to the overall solution (locating, weights).
NC goods, or shipments that are not suitable for boxing, are moved to the space in the vehicle that is not used with boxes.
The special features of the kfllabs conveyor technology modules:
compact, turnkey solution
CO2 tracking included, also retrofittable for the entire conveyor system
OCR, video integration / video tracking, server connection, motor tracking, CO2 footprint per shipment
Outlook
vanlift as a platform
- hardware wise – scanner, sensors, extensions, etc.
- software wise – data collection in the sense – data collection to complete the CDC (comprehensive data collection) of parcels and boxes
integration of volume measurement on the vanlift > volume / weight
integration of video / video track & trace
VANLIFT as HMI on configurable working processes
establishing a European wide service
